What we believe

At TBC we believe in the authority of the Bible in personal and church life. As a body of believers we seek to live and operate in ways that are consistent with biblical teaching.

Many of the TBC family have made a declaration of commitment to the church by becoming church members. Those who become members acknowledge Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord, agree with a basic statement of faith (such as the Apostles’ Creed) and agree to abide by the principles outlined in the church constitution.

Church members should also feel comfortable with the practices that characterise us as a Baptist Church, including ‘believer’s baptism’, which is baptism by full immersion in water of those of any age who have come to personal faith and trust in Jesus Christ.  Agreeing with these beliefs does not make you a Baptist, but it does mean that you would likely feel comfortable and enjoy fellowship within this church. As a church we also commit to upholding the Baptist Union of Great Britain ‘Declaration of Principle’.
